THE 75th CHARTER ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION COMMITTEE PLANNED FOR EVENTS TO TAKE PLACE PRIOR TO THE MAIN EVENT OF JUNE 15th

*For March, Tom Gerrish will relate to the Club Members details of the plans for the June 15, 2013
"75th Charter Anniversary Celebration"

*For April, Dennis Lyford will present a slide show
program of interesting past pictures, news releases, etc. pertaining to our Club

*For May, Barbara Austin will preside over an "Open Mike" program for members to share tales
of various Kiwanis related incidences


The festivities for this day of celebration includes the following events:

 Spend a leisurely afternoon at 

The Kiwanis Park
located in Dover-Foxcroft

·         Enjoy music performed by the Foxcroft Alumni Band

·         Use the opportunity to meet our distinguished guests as well as members from other Kiwanis Clubs

·         Informational talks by visiting Kiwanis Officials and others

·         Tours of the playground, family picnic area, and the Park Gardens

·         Walk down to the Trout Pond used for the “Hooked on Fishing” program for youths in town as well as the surrounding communities

·         Relax in the comforts of the pavilion while enjoying some light refreshments

 

Take a short journey across town from Kiwanis Park to the facilities of
Foxcroft Academy for the evening portion of the 75th Charter Celebration

  • View the various types of displays depicting the history and the community service and fund raising projects of the Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft from 1938 to 2013 that are on exhibit in the lobby of the Gymnasium
  • Be seated in the Gymnasium for opening ceremonies for our celebration Banquet
  • Enjoy the dinner menu which is the same as the meal for the 1938 Charter Night 75 years ago
  • Take part in the group singing of some old favorite songs of many Kiwanians
  • Listen to a special solo presentation song by one of our own Club members
  • Face the large projection screen above the stage for a PowerPoint presentation of the Early History, the Community Service Projects and Fund Raising Activities, Support of Local Organizations under Kiwanis International, and Social Activities of the Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft
